The Insurance Verification Representative:
- Receive inbound and make outbound calls and use applicable tools, with a focus on matters pertinent to patient insurance coverage and maintain clear and concise documentation of all attempts and/or contacts directly on the computerized collection system
- Verifies insurance coverage and benefits through a variety of mediums such as outbound phone calls and insurance websites

- Performs appropriate account activity by contacting managed care, governmental and commercial insurance carriers to affect payment on claims
- Answer all inquiries from consumers promptly; attempt to resolve consumer concerns by inquiring as to specific issues and clarifying those issues

Education & Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year working in a healthcare revenue cycle environment with a concentration in the areas of insurance billing and collections
- Knowledge of the healthcare insurance environment to include managed care, governmental and commercial insurance carriers as well as a myriad of reimbursement methodologies specific to provider contracts (fee schedule, per diems, percentage of total charges, etc.)
- Awareness of the various codes used when filing health insurance claims. This position will not affect coding changes to claims but rather will understand coding requirements and communicate need for amendment of codes to creditor clients

The Senior Business Analyst/Project Manager is responsible for providing ongoing project management for HSI’s ARTIVA Software implementation and ongoing projects to support the business and client needs. - Monitor productivity metrics on a continual basis throughout the work day ensuring performance levels are consistent with established benchmarks on a real time basis

WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES
· Use manual and automated dialing to contact delinquent account holders from across the country by telephone (averaging about 200 outbound calls a day)
· Request for payment of the outstanding balance in full or create alternative payment plans for the delinquent account holder, if they cannot pay the outstanding balance in full
· Negotiate with customers to arrive at the best resolution for the client and the company by using compassion, empathy and respect
· Process payments using check by phone, credit/debit cards, Western Union, or offer the customer the ability to mail in payments
· Follow up with account holders on their established payment plans and recommend what further action should be taken for account holders who default on their payment plans
· Toggling in and out of different client systems to locate customer accounts and document all collections activities
· Treat each call center team member courteously and help one another achieve your team’s goals by being a professional and using strong work ethics
WHAT YOU MUST POSSESS
· Rock-solid customer services skills
· Great negotiation and problem solving skills
· Patience and the ability to maintain composure on difficult calls and recognize when to escalate a call to a supervisor immediately
· Previous collections experience is great, but a minimum of 2-3 years of customer service experience is acceptable (especially if it is from a call center environment)
· Basic computer skills and working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
